Amid intensifying racial tensions and a grueling period of flood recovery, the city was in desperate need of a source of positivity and optimism. Enter: “altBR.”
The guys of altBR have interviews all kinds of people who are doing big things in the capital city. I like that I know most of the people who have been interviewed on the show, but I still learn something new about them through the interviews conducted on the podcast.
I was invited on the show, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences—and best conversations—I’ve had in Baton Rouge. My experience as a guest and a listener of altBR has encouraged me to reflect on myself and my city. And like any good conversation, I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.
[Jacob is] a master at the art of the interview.
Great guys with big dreams and the motivation to match them! I love the cause they are going for here and I can't wait to see how this positively affects our Baton Rouge community. Highly recommend.
Check out altBR, the podcast and the production team. I just found out about them through the new Southern poetry podcast Drawl. As big a fan of podcasts as I am, I can't believe I didn't know about this gem in my own backyard.
They genuinely care about the people of this city and will not only produce a well-made podcast worth listening to, but also a force for betterment and progress in Louisiana's capital city.
I just started listening to the podcast a couple of weeks ago and I LOVE IT! I'm so happy that there are people in BR that want to improve our city. This podcast is very uplifting and enjoyable. I can't wait to listen to the next episode!
This was hands down the most unscripted and unfiltered opportunity I've ever had to share my story & ideas. These guys came hard with asking me some really thought provoking questions.
[altBR is] a great way to showcase the great people of Baton Rouge and what they are doing to make it a better place!
